Puerto Valdivia is about six hours east of Medellín. It’s not an easy place to get to. The cafeteria is a simple building beside the church — nothing fancy. But every school day morning, it opens.

Sixty children eat breakfast there. Twenty adults too. The women who cook don’t get paid. They showed up on their own because they saw children who needed to eat. Then they asked for uniforms — aprons and shoes — so they could do it with dignity. That detail says everything about who they are.

The full program costs $1,300 a month. Diocese churches rotate sponsorships — each one covering a month per year. $16.25 feeds one child for a full month, breakfast and lunch every school day.

Tomorrow morning, the cafeteria opens again. Your gift can already be there.
