Quincy International is the international missions arm of the Diocese of Quincy, an Anglican diocese based in the United States. We fund and support mission work in Colombia — and plan to go further as God leads.
Bishop Alberto Morales says it plainly: the gospel is not good news unless it is good news to the poor. That is the conviction behind everything Quincy International does.
We don’t fly in and leave. We show up, build relationships, and come back. The Diocese of Quincy has been in Colombia for years. Father Jason Bowden and his wife Jennifer make regular trips. The work is relational. The presence is long-term. That is on purpose.
We believe the local church is the best vehicle for lasting good in a community. So we work through local churches, support local leaders, and follow their lead. They know their people. They know what’s needed.
Our approach is simple: trust the people who are already there, resource what they’re already doing, and commit to the long haul.
Every initiative runs through an established local church and trusted community leaders. They know their people far better than we ever could.
The women cooked before we gave them uniforms. Jose was giving fish away before we gave him a freezer. We resource what’s already happening.
A credential earned today keeps producing for decades. Machines that stay in the sewing school train women year after year. We think in decades, not quarters.
Quincy International is built on the belief that every person bears the image of God. The work in Colombia is an act of love — and of faith that the gospel has hands and feet.
We’re not a charity that happens to be Christian. We’re a diocese on mission. The local church is not just our logistics partner. It is the reason we’re there. Jesus told his followers to go into all the world. We take that seriously.
