Jose has always been a fisherman and a giver. When he caught more than he could use, he’d hand fish to neighbors who had nothing. The problem was simple: without a way to store what he caught, anything he couldn’t give away immediately went to waste.
He asked the mission for a chest freezer. Not a refrigerator — a chest freezer. He knew exactly what he needed and why. He also got a new fishing net.
Now he stores what he catches, organizes regular fish distributions for families in the community, and sells surplus to nearby cities for a modest income. A small act of generosity became a steady source of food for many households.
He says, “I thought this was just a freezer. But it is a way to feed the whole community.”
